Andreas was a journalist for The Economist from 1997 to 2017. During that time he was Berlin Bureau Chief and Germany Correspondent for nearly five years. Before that, he was the US West Coast Correspondent, covering the politics, society and economy of California and the western states. Before this, he covered technology from Silicon Valley, Asian business from Hong Kong, and finance from London. Andreas is the author of Hannibal and Me: What History’s Greatest Military Strategist Can Teach Us About Success and Failure. He is a dual citizen of the United States and Germany. He became editor-in-chief of Handelsblatt Today in March 2017.
