Sven Afhüppe is the editor-in-chief of Handelsblatt. Mr. Afhüppe became deputy editor-in-chief of Handelsblatt in 2011, and was co-editor-in-chief between 2013 and 2015, together with Hans-Jürgen Jakobs. He has worked at the paper since 2006 and previously covered politics from Berlin. He studied macroeconomics at the University of Münster and then received a degree from the Georg von Holtzbrinck School for Economic Journalists. He started his career in 1999 as correspondent in Berlin for business weekly WirtschaftsWoche, a sister publication of Handelsblatt, and switched to magazine Der Spiegel in 2004.
