Peter Köhler is a finance editor in Frankfurt, covering banks, private equity, venture capital and funding for Germany's small and medium-sized companies, the Mittelstand.
He has studied economics at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt and completed a traineeship at the financial press agency VWD in Eschborn. He spent nine years working for the news agency in Germany and abroad, before starting at Handelsblatt in 1996.
At the business newspaper, he experienced the early stages of the first internet editorial team. Together with three other editors, he worked on "Handelsblatt Interaktiv" in a set of small rooms located above a supermarket in Düsseldorf. He moved to Frankfurt in 2000, where he has since worked as a finance correspondent.
